Raqib Islam

Dr. Raqib Islam is a Researcher in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University and a member of the IDT Lab. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from UNC Charlotte. His research interests lie at the intersection of high-performance computing and algorithm design, with a focus on data storage systems and sparse data algorithms. His work aims to combine algorithm engineering with the capabilities of emerging hardware to deliver practical and scalable solutions for next-generation computing systems.

Prior to his doctoral studies, Raqib worked as a Principal Software Engineer at TigerIT Bangladesh Ltd., where he led projects in machine learning and data management systems. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
